Dundas Place Updates: New Parking Spots and Water Work

This past week, the Dundas Place project finished the watermain work from Ridout to Talbot, and began testing. They also completed the duct work from Ridout to Talbot. Next week, they will continue with watermain testing, and continue with hydro vault and duct installation.

Some new curbside parking spots have been added around the current construction site – to its east, north, and south. This week, City Council approved that the former London Transit stops between Richmond Street and Wellington Street, be changed to 10 on-street parking spots and loading zones until Phase 2 Dundas Place construction begins in 2019.

They also approved five parking spots on the north and south sides of Carling Street, just west of Richmond, until Sept 1.

Additionally, two parking spots on Talbot Street north of King were added indefinitely.

As for the construction progress, crews were able to complete the majority of the new watermain installation and start testing. Getting clean, reliable water up and running is an important milestone for the project, though watermain testing is a long process.

Crews also touched up the pedestrian crosswalk at Richmond and Talbot in time for the weekend, as part of their commitment to maintain hard, compact surfaces for pedestrians during construction.
