London Man Charged With First Degree Murder Following Grey Street Stabbing

On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at approximately 9:55 pm, members of the London Police Service and EMS responded to a residence on Grey Street in response to a 9-1-1 call reporting a stabbing. A male was located with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment but was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. London Police laid a charge today following the homicide.

The victim has been identified as Roy Joseph Gowdy, 44, of London.

As a result of the homicide investigation, Tony Lynn Huff-Williams, 35, of London, has been charged with first degree murder.

The accused was also charged with aggravated assault in relation to a stabbing that took place at a residence on Simcoe Street on that same night of April 24, at approximately 6:30 pm. The 25-year-old male victim sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Huff-Williams appeared in London court on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in relation to the Simcoe Street incident, during which a publication ban was issued on any evidence presented during the hearing.

The accused is scheduled to re-appear in London court on Wednesday May 02, 2018 in relation to the charges.
