Driver Charged After Hitting Cyclist

Yesterday at approximately 8:00 pm, a 27-year-old man was riding a bicycle southbound on Highbury Avenue North. He went through a green light at the intersection of Killarney Road and Highbury, and was struck by a pickup truck travelling eastbound.

The cyclist was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in fair condition at this time.

As a result of the investigation, 26-year old Tayler Ronald Wareham of London, is charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood causing bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 26th, in relation to the charge.
