22-year-old London Man Charged In Arson Case

A London man has been charged in relation to an investigation involving a fire at a residence that occurred on December 8th, 2017, at approximately 9:20 pm. Members of London Fire Department and London Police Service attended a Margaret Street residence in relation to an on-going fire.

There were no injuries and the home was not occupied at the time of the fire, but original assessment of the damage suggested that the fire was suspicious in nature. The Fire Inspector, Ontario Fire Marshall Office and London Police Service held the scene and continued the investigation.

The total damages were estimated to be $20,000.

On Wednesday, members of the London Police Street Crime Unit arrested Bo-Richard Leforte, 22, of London in relation to the suspicious fire. He was charged with two counts of the Criminal Code of Canada offence of arson/fire disregard for human life.

The accused appeared in London court yesterday in relation to this matter.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com
