31-Year Old Man Facing Multiple Charges After Injuring Man And Three Officers

On Monday at approximately 6:40 pm, police responded to the area of Wellington and Horton streets in relation to an injured male laying on the ground. The unconscious victim was transported to hospital. He had been repeatedly kicked and struck multiple times with a metal chair.

The 35-year-old victim is in critical condition.

When officers approached the suspect, three were assaulted. Two officers sustained serious injuries, the third sustained minor injuries, and the fourth was not injured.

Damion Buckley, 31, of no fixed address, is charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Aggravated assault;
Assault a peace officer causing bodily harm x 2; and
Assault a peace officer x 2

The accused is scheduled to appear by way of video in London court on July 5, 2018 in relation to the charges.
