60-Year Old Man Charged In Hamilton Road Bank Robbery

A 60-year-old man is facing charges after robbing a bank yesterday afternoon. At approximately 2:15 pm, the man entered a bank located at 950 Hamilton Road and demanded money from the employee, before fleeing the area with an undisclosed amount of currency.

No weapon was observed, and no one sustained any physical injuries.

The suspect was located by police a short distance away inside a vehicle bearing stolen licence plates.

As a result of the investigation, David Alway, 60, of St Thomas, has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Robbery; and
Possession of property obtained by crime.

He is expected to appear in court today in relation to this matter.
