Back-to-School Safety Video Series Launched By London Police Service

The London Police Service are releasing the first of five videos to remind Londoners about back-to-school safety this morning. The series will start with bicycle safety, and a new video will be posted daily between now and the first day of school.

Here is the schedule:

Bicycle Safety (Friday, August 31)
Railway Crossings (Saturday, September 1)
Safe Driving (Sunday, September 2)
Crossing the Street Safely (Monday, September 3)
Bus Safety (Tuesday, September 4)

Each one of the videos features a London Police Service Community Services Officer.

“Back to school time is always exciting,” said Sgt. Brendan Hicks of the LPS Community Services Unit. “It’s important in all of that excitement for kids to remember their rules for getting to and from school safely. Drivers also need to be extra careful and cautious, especially in school zones. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, so let’s all work together to keep kids safe on our roads and sidewalks.”

The safety videos will be posted every morning on the LPS’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube feeds. They will also be archived on the LPS website.
