Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested And Charged

A 30-year-old man who robbed a bank in downtown London yesterday, is in custody after attempting to flee the city on a Greyhound Bus.

Javid Hosein Soltani, 30, of no fixed address, is charged with the Criminal Code of Canada offences of robbery with threats of violence, and one count of wearing a disguise.

Yesterday at approximately 9:50 am, a man entered a bank located at 270 Dundas Street, wearing a jacket with the hood pulled up over his head, dark sunglasses, and gloves. He demanded money from the employee, and fled the area with an undisclosed amount of currency.

Through the course of the investigation, police were able to identify the suspect and began searching the downtown core.

At approximately 1 pm, the accused was arrested at the Greyhound Bus station.

He is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
