Launch Kicks Off 19th Annual London Fringe

Let the games begin! The London Fringe returns for it’s 19th annual live arts festival in just four weeks time, but tonight they held a launch at Fringe Headquarters, to get this year’s event officially underway.

The programs, the passes, the advanced tickets, the posters, the lawn signs… are all now available.

You can also now download a PDF of the Program from their website, that will give you information about all of the performances, as well as the accompanying special events like VisualFringe, Workshops, and one-time shows. The show descriptions were written by the artists, and include everything from age recommendations, to language or other content warnings, so that you can make informed choices about what you want to see.

Tickets also went on sale today for The Performer Showcase that kick-starts the event on May 29th at The Palace Theatre. This is where the excitement begins, and it sells out fast! The Fringe performers get two minutes each to show you what they have in store for the 2018 festival, and, then you get to try and choose what productions you want to buy tickets for! There are ticket giveaways, draw prizes, and Downtown Dollar draws for those in attendance. Get your free Fringe button when you buy a ticket.

The London Fringe runs from that May 29th evening event, through June 9th, and there are some THREE HUNDRED performances over that stretch of twelve days. It is an event of huge magnitude, and they are able to pull off that logistical miracle, by adhering to some simple steps that you should know:

1. All shows will start on time
2. Nobody is allowed in after the doors have closed.
3. They only accept cash at the door for ticket purchases.

You can buy advanced tickets starting today.

The London Fringe has a variety of venue sizes ranging from 40 to 300 seats.

Something for everybody. That’s part of what makes Fringe so great, and has allowed it to entertain Londoners for almost two decades.
