London Celebrates Cycling – 8 Days of Cycling Events

From today through next Sunday, the City of London, in conjunction with partners London Cycle Link, Boler Mountain, Big Bike Giveaway, Fanshawe College, Urban League London, Can Bike, Middlesex London Health Unit and London Clean & Green, have teamed up to to present London Celebrates Cycling, 8 Days of Cycling Events.

Londoners are invited to come out and celebrate the joys of using a bicycle for transportation and recreation throughout London and see places you may have only seen from a car. The events are designed to all ages, all cycling abilities and many of the events are family-friendly. It’s great for your health, great for the environment, and great for the London community!

Here are some of the events that you can look forward to:

SUNDAY, June 10, 2018

Old East Village Riding Group
Time: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Boyle Memorial Community Centre, 530 Charlotte Street

Big Bike Giveaway Collection
Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: Ilderton Community Centre, 13168 Ilderton Road, Ilderton

Wind Chime Ride
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Meet at the Harris Park Pavilion

London’s Bike to Work Day
Time: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Locations:
• Springbank Gardens Community Centre along the Thames Valley Parkway
• King St., just east of Ridout St.
• Queens Ave., just east of Waterloo St.
• Western University campus, corner of University Dr. and Perth Dr.

CAN-BIKE Level 2 Training
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, east parking lot at 656 Elizabeth Street

TUESDAY, June 12, 2018

Cycling and Sustenance Ride- Food Forests
Time: 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Meet at the Ivey Park flag pole at the Fork of the Thames

WEDNESDAY, June 13, 2018

Wednesday Night Bike Ride
Time: 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Meet at the Ivey Park flag pole at the Fork of the Thames

Women Celebrate Cycling Speakers Evening
Time: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Location: TAP Centre for Creativity (formerly ARTS Project) 203 Dundas Street

THURSDAY, June 14, 2018

Boler Mountain’s Night at the Races
Time: 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. (multiple rides)
Location: Boler Mountain, 689 Griffith Street

Cycling and Sustenance Ride – Community Gardens
Time: 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Meet at the Ivey Park flag pole at the Fork of the Thames

FRIDAY, June 15, 2018

Recycle-A-Bike Day & Commuter Café
Time: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: London Bicycle Café, 355 Clarence Street

SATURDAY, June 16, 2018

London Bike Rides (registration required)
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. (multiple rides)
Location: Springbank Gardens, 285 Wonderland Road South

SUNDAY, June 17th, 2018
