London Police Services continue to look for help in relation to a child abduction in the north end of the city yesterday. A four-year-old female was playing outside with a sibling, when witnesses saw a vehicle stop in the middle of the intersection. An adult male exited the driver side of the car, approached the young girl, and then picked up the girl and put her in the vehicle.
Witnesses then said the car drove east on Melsandra Avenue, before driving through the neighbourhood, and then stopping back in the area where the girl was originally picked up. The young girl ran home to report the incident to her parents. She did not sustain any physical injuries.
Witnesses were able to provide a description of the vehicle to police.
An arrest was made yesterday, however, the person was released unconditionally. No charges have been laid and police are looking to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect.
He is described as a male, Caucasian, approximately 60 years old, 5’10”, and of average build. He has grey hair, brown framed glasses, and has facial hair that was described as having a bit of growth. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt.
