Two London Men Facing Theft Charges On Construction Equipment

Earlier this year, the London Police Service were made aware of a trend involving the theft of medium-duty construction equipment, like front-end loaders, skid steers and utility-task vehicles (UTVs). The thefts occurred from residences and businesses in London and surrounding areas.

As a result of the investigation, the London Police Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on June 25th at a local London business operating out of a storage unit. Police recovered several stolen items from the unit and have returned them to their owners.

Other pieces of medium-duty construction equipment were recovered in the city and west of London.

Michael Laur, 36, of London, is charged with:

5 counts of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
3 counts of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
2 counts of Theft Over $5000

John Knight, 42, of London, is charged with:

2 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
1 count of Theft Over $5000

The investigation is ongoing.
