London Police Services have arrested a man in connection with a 4-year-old girl who was temporarily abducted from her neighbourhood.
The child was playing in the area of Barker St. and Melsandra Ave. on Sunday morning, when a vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection nearby. Witnesses say that the male driver got out, picked the girl up, and put her in his car before driving away.
The man returned to the area shortly thereafter, and dropped the girl near where he originally picked her up. She was not physically hurt.
Police released a description of the suspect and the vehicle used in the abduction on Monday, and later arrested a man regarding the incident. Charges are pending and no further information is being released at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or the suspect to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
