Early this morning at approximately 12:10am, police responded to the area of North Centre Road near the east entrance to the Masonville Mall property in response to a report of an attempted robbery and discharge of a firearm.

Upon arrival the female victim of the attempted robbery advised officers that she was walking her dog in the area when she was approached by a man who pointed a firearm at her and demanded her valuables. The victim didn’t comply and the man left the area, but shortly thereafter the victim heard the sound of a gunshot. Officers on scene recovered evidence of a discharged round nearby.

The victim was not injured and no damage was found in the area.

He was wearing a burgundy or brown shirt with a graphic design on the front, baggy grey sweat pants, black baseball cap, and black shoes. He was carrying a worn black backpack.
