Canada turns 151 today and celebrations and events are planned throughout the city to help you wish her a Happy Birthday.
Canada Day celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 signing of the Constitution Act, then referred to as the British North America Act, 1867. That act united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire.
Originally called Dominion Day, the holiday was renamed in 1982, the year the Canada Act was passed. Canada Day celebrations take place throughout the country, as well as in various locations around the world, attended by Canadians living abroad.
In London, Harris Park will come to life to celebrate Canada’s 151st. Enjoy multiple food, beverage and treat vendors, live entertainment, a Heritage Corner, multicultural performances, free cupcakes, interactive games, beer gardens, Kids Zone and of course, fireworks at 10pm!
All Ages and Free Admission! Licensed Beer Gardens become 19+ after 8pm.
