London Man Charged With Attempted Murder

On Sunday, June 10, 2018, at approximately 4 am, members of the London Police Service responded to an address on Oxford Street East near Third Street in response to a report of shots beingfired. When they arrived, officers found evidence that a number of rounds had been fired; but there were no reports of injuries, and the involved parties had fled the area prior to police arrival.

Yesterday, police arrested 27-year old Shakeem Shavonne Nicholas of London.

Nicholas has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Attempted murder;
Discharging a firearm with intent to wound; and
Possessing a loaded regulated firearm without being the holder of an authorization or licence permitting such possession.

He will appear in court today in relation to the charges.

The investigation into this matter, including the identity of the second shooter, is on-going.
