Knights Tickets Go On Sale Saturday

July melted into August, and that means that the good people of the Forest City are drawing ever nearer to yet another London Knights hockey season. They are an institution in this town, so it bears mentioning that tickets for the entire 2018-2019 season go on sale this Saturday at 10am.

Dale Hunter and crew will be looking to improve upon a 2017/2018 season that saw them bow out of the playoffs to the Owen Sound Attack in the first round. They finished the regular season third in the Midwest Division with a record of 39-25-2-2.

The Knights could see a big influence this year from their Import Draft Picks, as both this year’s pick Matvey Guskov, and last year’s first round pick Adam Bovqist, have signed OHL Standard Players Agreements to play for the Knights.

Guskov will be entering his first NHL Draft eligible season where he is lauded as a potential first-round selection. He scored 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 25 games for CSKA Moskva in the Russian U17 League last year; but drew even more attention at the World U17 Junior Championships, where he scored four goals and added an assist in five games for Russia.

Swedish-born Boqvist was already drafted 8th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, but is just 17 years old. The highly touted, smooth-skating defenseman scored 14 goals and had 24 points in 25 games for Brynäs IF J20 in the SuperElite League in Sweden last year.

“When we drafted Adam last year in the CHL Import Draft, we were very optimistic that he would one day come to London,” said Knights GM Rob Simpson last month. “We would like to acknowledge Stan Bowman and the Chicago Blackhawks organization in agreeing to send him to London in order to continue his development towards a successful NHL career.”

Both players could have a significant effect on the shape of the roster, and the Knights 2018/2019 season.

So grab your tickets before it’s too late, and get ready for another season of the Green, Gold and White.
