London Man Charged In Robbery And Assault investigation

London Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Richmond Street yesterday, and a man is in custody following a robbery and aggravated assault investigation.

On Saturday at approximately 1:50 am, a 26-year-old man was confronted outside of a Richmond Street residence by a man he knew. The accused hit the victim with a pipe, and stabbed him in the upper chest. The accused then stole the victim’s bicycle and fled the area.

Emergency Services were contacted and the victim was located with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery in relation to his injuries.

A number of items, including a knife, were seized as a result of the warrant executed yesterday.

Daniel Stephen George, 52, of London, was arrested and charged with Robbery/theft from person with violence, and aggravated assault.

The accused will appear in London court today by way of video, in relation to the charges.

As part of the investigation, the London Police received assistance from the London Fire Department in relation to the search of a building rooftop.
