London Police Officer Arrested On Additional Criminal Charge

A suspended London police officer was arrested this morning and charged with breaching a condition of his recognizance. The 42-year-old officer was originally charged with sexual assault on November 22nd, 2017.

It is alleged in the new case that he breached a condition to not have contact with the victim.

Due to the nature of the allegations, the London Police are not releasing the officer’s name. It is their policy to not release the name of any accused, if the accused was involved in a relationship with the victim and releasing the name could identify the victim.

The officer is currently suspended with pay. The Police Services Act does not allow for the suspension of a member without pay.

He is expected to appear in court today.
