A London woman was charged today, for posing as personal support worker, and robbing senior citizens.
On Sunday, April 13, 2018, London Police were called to a seniors-only residence regarding reports of theft from the residents. The elderly residents reported that an adult female, gained access to the apartments by posing as a personal support worker, and then allegedly went to the bank with the victims to assist with their banking. The woman then took the withdrawn cash once they returned home.
It was also reported that the victims gave the woman money to make purchases at a store, but she never returned.
As a result of an investigation by members of the Financial Crimes Unit, Amanda Albert, 33, of London, was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences on May 9, 2018:
Theft Under $5000 x 2
Breach of Probation x 2
She is scheduled to appear in court on June 25 2018.
