Police Investigate Shot Fired On Ernest Avenue

Police officers responded to 1588 Ernest Avenue on Saturday night at approximately 10:10pm, in relation to a 911 call reporting a suspicious noise believed to be a gun shot.

Upon arrival officers discovered that a projectile from a firearm had been fired through the door of an apartment there. The apartment was not occupied at the time and there were no injuries reported.

The investigation has so far revealed that this does not appear to be a random act, and that the apartment was targeted. The firearm has not been recovered.

Two persons were seen running from the scene after the shooting, but no arrests have been made at this time.

The first person was described as a light-skinned black male approximately 20 to 30 years old, approximately 6’3” tall with a medium build, wearing a dark grey hooded jacket, black pants, and white shoes.

The second person was described as a Caucasian male, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5’9” with a thin build, wearing a black hooded jacket, beige pants, black shoes, and a black baseball cap with a reflective sticker on the brim.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident including the identities of the two persons seen fleeing from the scene is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
