Man Arrested For Smashing Police Headquarters Door, Has Been Arrested Again

The Stratford man that was charged with attempting to break in to police headquarters, has been arrested again. This time accused of assault with a weapon and break and enter.

At about 4:00pm yesterday afternoon, the man was discovered hiding inside a unit in a high-rise apartment building on Talbot Street by the occupant. The occupant then left the unit, and was with the property manager in the hall when a man exited carrying several bags of property and waving a large knife.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

Roger Marchand, 29, of Stratford, is charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

break and enter and theft, Sec. 348 (1) (b)
assault with a weapon, Sec. 267 (A).
